bio-acetate is a plant-based material made from wood pulp and cotton cellulose fibers. it's the same family of material luxury eyewear is made from — which is exactly the point. the color and pattern aren't printed on the surface: they're layered through the entire sheet, so the depth you see is real, all the way down.
cheap clips are injection-molded petroleum plastic. they're light, hollow, and brittle — that's why they snap. ours never start there.
how a clip gets made
each silhouette is cnc precision-cut from the acetate sheet, then tumbled for days until every surface is smooth. after tumbling, edges are polished by hand until they feel like glass. the spring mechanism is fitted last — heavy, high-tension, built to hold a full mane.
the whole process takes roughly 60 days per run. that's why drops are limited: the scarcity isn't marketing, it's manufacturing.
